Bergischer closer to new contract

Bergischer HC returned from HSV Hamburg with two all important points. Despite some tense final minutes, BHC concluded with a 35–34-win.

Bergischer was one of the promoted teams for the 2025/26 season. The fate of the traditional club is still to be determined over the last ten rounds but BHC´s sixth victory absolutely meant a positive boost for the ambitions.

Sören Steinhaus was a contributing factor as centre back and Noah Beyer had effective shots from the left wing.

Most of all, Bergischer managed to produce steady goals towards the very end, when Hamburg pushed hard to equalize once again.

– The guys kept scoring clinical goals in the final stages. That was impressive. That’s why we secured these important points in the relegation battle, the coach Markus Pütz told the league website.

Bergischer in position 15 is currently four points ahead of HSG Wetzlar on the nearest relegation place. Hamburg continue to win some and lose some in the mid-region without any real risk of being involved in the relegation battle.
