Two years without the yellow and black jersey was enough for Alina Grijseels. Borussia Dortmund announces the comeback of the key player on a two-year-deal.
Grijseels had all kinds of experiences playing for Dortmund between 2014 and 2023. She started when the team played second division handball, but soon achieved promotion. The 28-year-old also became team captain and a true profile before saying goodbye.
For a period of time, anyway. Grijssels gained titles with Metz HB and seek to end 2024/25 in good fashion with CSM Bucharest. Then it’s Dortmund once again for the capable back court player.
– BVB is like home to me, and that’s exactly how it feels now. I’m looking forward to the home feeling, the team spirit within the club, and the interaction with each other. I don’t want to end my title collection with my years abroad, but rather continue working on it with BVB, she says to the club webpage.
Dortmund is currently number two in the Bundesliga table, having failed to reach the top in Grijseels absence.
– Our wish was always to see her in black and yellow once again – and with this signing, we have now achieved that, says the head of the women’s handball department Rupert Thiele to the club website.
