The top scorer from the Greek League last season has a new environment in sight. TVB Stuttgart will reinforce their nine meter capacity when Achilleas Toskas add on to the top flight squad.
A move from Greece to Germany on highest level doesn´t happen every day. Stuttgart´s scouting section had ample opportunity to observe Toskas in action, for example during the World U21 championship last summer, which was co-hosted by the two countries.
– Achilleas is one of the greatest talents in Europe in his position, but of course he still needs time to develop. We believe that we can offer him the best conditions for this, especially in a position with such an experienced player as Kai Häfner, says TVB managing director Jürgen Schweikardt to the club webpage.
The arrival of Toskas on a three-year-contract means that Jan Forstbauer will have to look for another club.
– It wasn’t a decision against Jan, but one for Achilleas’ future prospects.
– We made this decision for the future in order to have even more alternatives to Kai Häfner offensively, says Schweikardt to the club website on the topic of choosing a different back nine player.
