Toulouse push for fourth place in French league

Behind the podium teams who seems to be sure of their respective position the race to finish fourth and gain a spot in Europe is still on in Starligue. Fenix Toulouse’s triumph over Limoges HB, 35–32 moved Toulouse up the ladder with two league rounds to go.

Nemanja Ilic was clearly the man of the match in the Sunday win where Toulouse completed a brilliant first half to announce direction.

The Serbian left wing ran for a total of 14 goals, which oddly enough wasn’t a season best for the 35-year-old (Ilic scored 16 times versus Chambery in December).

With ten field goals and four quality penalties, Ilic ruled for the home team. The countryman, Uros Kojadinovic made no mistake with five right back shots and Toulouse also had the best goalkeeper in Jef Lettens.

Toulouse has received 34 points in 28 games and lies one point ahead of Saint-Raphael Var with Usam Nimes trailing with 32 points. Limoges has their own battle to finish on the top half in the table.
