Dujshebaev appointed new France head coach

After a disappointing EHF Euro campaign, France have decided to make a change on the coaching staff. Kielce head coach Talant Dujshebaev takes over as the new national team coach, replacing Guillaume Gille.
– It is a great honour for me to take on the role as France’s national team coach, Dujshebaev said on the French Handball Federation’s official website.

The French national team endured a disappointing European Championship, failing to advance past the main round. As a result, Guillaume Gille left his position today after six years in charge of the national team.

– I would like to thank Gille for his unwavering commitment since 2020, said Philippe Bana, president of the French federation.

Bana also announced that the federation has appointed a new head coach. The choice fell on Talant Dujshebaev, who will officially take over his new role on March 16.

– It is truly an honour for me to coach the French national team. It is a dream, as France has a fantastic generation of players. My goal with these players is simple: to win everything, to dominate again, Dujshebaev said about his new role.

The French federation also announced that the remaining members of the coaching staff will be presented during the next national team gathering in March. Dujshebaev’s first competitive matches in charge will come in May, when France face the Czech Republic in two World Championship qualification matches.
