A few weeks ago Neptunes de Nantes announced the departure of current coach, Helle Thomsen. By next summer, Camille Comte will coach Nantes according to the club website.
Neptunes de Nantes is capable of performing solid results in the European competitions and challenge the favourites for the French titles.
At least that has been the case for some years, Nantes won EHF European League 2020/21 and prepares to start another group phase campaign in the beginning of 2024.
A new strategy, focusing on talent work and young players was communicated when the club chose not to extend Thomsens contract.
Being mindful of the economic situation, Nantes have choosen Camille Comte for the work at hand 2024/25.
– I am very happy to join the Neptunes project. It is a club which has already worked well to improve the working conditions of players and staff, but also to place itself at the top of the ranking.
– We share the same vision of supporting players, the same desire to strengthen its identity as a training club, the same values in societal commitments, says Comte to the club website.
Comte are up-to-date with the French elite league after four years in ES Besançon and another seven seasons with Bourg-de-Péage Drôme.
