Finnish leagues include seven team next season

The Finnish leagues, ’SM-liiga’ and ’SM-sarja’ confirm seven teams in the lineup for both men and women 2024/25. Before the playoffs all teams will meet four times, according to finnhandball.net.

In the men’s division, all seven teams return from the previous season with BK-46 as defending champion. The six top teams advance to the play-offs.

The women’s championship sees a newcomer as Atlas from Vantaa return having last appeared in the 2020-21-season. 

Grankulla IFK och and Helsinki IFK, who won gold and bronze in 2023-24 will participate on Finland’s behalf in the Baltic Sea Handball League where teams from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania also join in.
