Transfer rumor: Dinamo București closing in on Swedish goalkeeper

Dinamo București are actively restructuring for their upcoming EHF Champions League campaign. According to reports from Romanian sports outlet ProSport, the Romanian champions have reached an agreement with 23-year-old Swedish rising star Oscar Sävinger.

The European handball transfer market is heating up, and a significant move appears to be brewing between Sweden and Romania. Exclusive reports from ProSport state that Dinamo București have successfully targeted IK Sävehof’s standout goalkeeper, Oscar Sävinger, to reinforce their squad ahead of next season.

Sävinger’s contract with the Swedish club expires this summer, making him a highly coveted free agent. Sources close to the negotiation indicate that the Swedish shot-stopper has agreed to a two-year deal that would keep him in the Romanian capital until 2028.

Part of the European goalkeeper carousel

Should the transfer be finalized, it will trigger a major shift in Dinamo’s backline. The Swedish youngster is reportedly handpicked to replace Serbian international star Vladimir Cupara, who is expected to depart the club.

Sävinger would split time in the crease with Romanian international Ionuț Iancu, who is currently recovering from an injury but is expected back by the start of the season.

Dinamo București, led by Portuguese head coach Paulo Pereira, recently completed a dominant domestic campaign by securing both the Romanian league and cup titles. However, after a challenging run in the EHF Champions League, management is eager to inject young international talent into the roster to once again challenge continental heavyweights like Barça, PSG, and SC Magdeburg.

A major step for a rising talent

For Oscar Sävinger, this move represents a definitive leap into the European elite. A product of the renowned IK Sävehof academy, he made his top-tier debut in 2019 and has since established himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Scandinavia. He further raised his international profile this season with a series of strong performances in the EHF European League.

At the time of writing, neither Dinamo București nor IK Sävehof have officially confirmed the transfer.
