Yesterday, the EHF Court of Handball released a decision in a case brought against the Türkiye Handball Federation, following incidents that occurred during the 2025 Men’s IHF World Championship Qualification Europe Phase 1.
During the match between Türkiye and Italy, held on November 1, 2023, in Serdivan, numerous objects were hurled onto the playing court by spectators supporting the host federation. In light of the improper and hazardous conduct of these supporters, the EHF Court of Handball has levied a fine of €4,000 (four thousand euros) against the Türkiye Handball Federation.
The federation has the option to lodge an appeal with the EHF Court of Appeal within a period of 7 days following the issuance of this decision.
