EHF confirms two-year suspension for Dragan Nachevski

EHF’s internal court, the Court of Appeal, has now confirmed the ruling against Dragan Nachevski. The former head of referees is suspended for two years from all handball-related activities in Europe and is fined 5,000 euros.

Following TV2’s award-winning documentary referee chief Dragan Nachevski was suspended. The ruling in September imposed a two-year suspension from all handball-related activities in Europe.

Nachevski chose to appeal the ruling to the Court of Appeal, but earlier today, the decision was upheld. In addition to the two-year suspension, Nachevski is also required to pay a 5,000-euro fine.

“Dragan Nachevski was dismissed from his duties in May 2023 after EHF received information from the Danish TV channel TV2 that he had been involved in a conversation with an alleged Chinese businessman,” writes EHF on their website. They continue:

“On Tuesday (July 30, 2024), the EHF Appeals Committee confirmed the first-instance decision. Nachevski is therefore suspended from performing any function within EHF and participating in any EHF activities for two years, starting from the date of the first-instance decision (April 12, 2024).”
