TTH Holstebro secures Swedish goalkeeper on three-year deal

Swedish goalkeeper Emil Holmberg Schatzl is taking the next step in his career, moving abroad for the first time. The 21-year-old, who has impressed in Sweden’s top league with Alingsås HK, has signed a three-year deal with Danish side TTH Holstebro.

– I’ve gotten a really good impression of TTH Holstebro and see great opportunities to develop, especially under goalkeeper coach Søren Rasmussen. This will be my first contract outside Sweden, and it makes it extra exciting to join the Danish league and experience the environment in Holstebro. I feel that TTH is the right place for me to take the next step, says Emil Holmberg Schatzl.

Holmberg Schatzl made his debut in Sweden’s top league, Handbollsligan, in the 2021/22 season and has played consistently at the highest level since 2023/24. In addition to his club career, Emil brings significant international experience. He has represented Sweden in 33 youth and junior international matches and finished fourth at the U21 World Championship in Poland in 2025.

At TTH Holstebro, Emil will form a goalkeeper partnership with Portugal’s national team keeper Gustavo Capdeville.

– Emil is a highly promising young goalkeeper with huge potential. He already has valuable experience from Sweden’s top league and international youth teams, and we see him as an important part of TTH Holstebro’s future setup. We look forward to helping him take the next steps in his development, says TTH goalkeeper coach Søren Rasmussen.
