Power Rankings is Oliver Jørgensens monthly take on which teams are truly in form. It’s not about the league table, but about how the teams have performed during the past month.
Here are the Danish Men’s League Power Rankings for December!
1: Aalborg Håndbold
Current league standing: 1
Power rankings November: 1

6 games. 6 wins. 12 (!) points clear. Just one defeat all season (Füchse away). You must give it to Jan Larsen … he has created a powerhouse.
2: SAH
Current league standing: 2
Power rankings November: 6

I really like the dynamic of this team. Great arms on Lærke and Kristjansson. Brilliant minds in Olsson and Balling. Could be dangerous.
3: Skjern
Current league standing: 5
Power rankings November: 5

Søndergaard silently creating stability on court.
The club is (not as silent) trying to create the next Big academy (The Magnet) from 2028. We’ll see how many talents they will “pull” from GOG and Skanderborg.
4: TMS Ringsted
Current league standing: 11
Power rankings November: 11

Crazy scenes when they qualified for the Final 4. A metaphorical (and only metaphorical !!) finger from the Olsen-brothers to their old club.
5: SønderjyskE
Current league standing: 8
Power rankings November: 8

Amazing overtime win at Mors to secure the Final 4 spot. Now a semifinal against Ringsted. No reason not to dream big!
6: Mors-Thy
Current league standing: 3
Power rankings November: 3

Damn, that’s going to hurt. No Final 4 and then a defeat against Ringsted to end the year.
Ian Marko, Dennis Bo and the Bette Balkan-gang should be happy with the season so far. Right now, I don’t think they are.
7: GOG
Current league standing: 4
Power rankings November: 7
Have been amazing away from home. Not as much at (the new) home. Crazy when you think about how Gudme has always been a hell for the visitors.
Santa still showed up with a big present. Hjalte Lykke signed a new contract. New great transfer case?
8: Fredericia
Current league standing: 10
Power rankings November: 12
A fine way to end the year with 3 December.wins. Still not near the 23/24-season. Maybe they can still turn things around.
9: TTH
Current league standing: 7
Power rankings November: 2

GOG, Skjern, SønderjyskE and Aalborg. Tough schedule. Resulted in 1 point. They looked like they needed a break. Great to see Houtepen back – an exciting player for sure.
10: Nordsjælland
Current league standing: 13
Power rankings November: 10
Second to last but lets be honest. Not in danger. It’s all gonna come down to what happens at the end of the season.
11: BSH
Current league standing: 6
Power rankings November: 13

They started the month destroying HØJ and Ribe-Esbjerg and beat Fredericia. After that… 1 point against Mors-Thy and SønderjyskE and worst of all – failed to qualify for Final 4 after a loss in Ringsted. Still not great. But … Mads Svane will be at the Euros. Hooray!!!
12: Ribe-Esbjerg
Current league standing: 12
Power rankings November: 9

Poor, poor form for Marc Uhd’s team – which apparently rewards him with a new contract till 2030. I get it. He’s a great coach. But he should be guiding this team to more wins.
13: HØJ
Current league standing: 9
Power rankings November: 4

Damgaard does what he always has. Shoots until the coach takes him off the court. The difference from the Magdeburg-days and now? He stays in the game. Maybe he shouldn’t?
Crucial games against Ringsted and Nordsjælland. Only left them with 1 point. Defeats against SAH and BSH as well.
14: Grindsted
Current league standing: 14
Power rankings November: 14
No points in december and now 10 point below the line. They fight like hell but it doesn’t cut it this year.
