It was reported a few weeks ago – and now it is official. Isak Vedelsbøl has signed for HØJ Elite. The Danish club has bought out the pivot from IK Sävehof.
– It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I feel that the time has come to take the next step in my handball career and continue my development, Vedelsbøl says on Sävehof’s website.
Vedelsbøl joined Sävehof at just 19 years of age. Their he has shown a strong development and has become a high-class defensive player in the Swedish Handbollsligan. He has also earned a spot in the national team squad for the European Championship.
This progress has attracted interest from clubs abroad, and it is now confirmed that the 21-year-old will leave IK Sävehof after the season to join Danish side HØJ Elite.
– I am incredibly grateful for my time at the club. Sävehof, and all the people around it, have meant a lot to me. It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I feel the time has come to take the next step in my handball career and continue to develop. A big thank you for all the support, all the memories and the community. Sävehof will always have a special place in my heart, says Vedelsbøl.
HØJ Elite have bought Vedelsbøl out of his current contract with Sävehof and have signed him to a three-year deal starting this summer.
– Vedelsbøl is a young, physically strong and ambitious two-way player who has already proven himself at international level. The opportunity arose to buy Isak out of his contract one year before it expired, and we are pleased that everything fell into place so he can join our squad already for the upcoming season, says director Lars Winther
