Odense part ways with head coach Jakob Vestergaard

Odense Håndbold have parted ways with head coach Jakob Vestergaard with immediate effect. The Danish club points to the team’s performances and recent results as the reason behind the decision.

Vestergaard has been in charge of Odense since July 2025, but the club announced on Saturday that his time as head coach has come to an end.

According to Odense, the team’s performances and results over a longer period have not lived up to the club’s sporting ambitions. His final game in charge was Wednesday’s 26–23 defeat against Team Esbjerg.

Assistant coach Mark Strandgaard will take over as interim head coach while Odense begin the search for Vestergaard’s permanent replacement.
