Lasse Andersson joins HØJ Elite despite relegation

HØJ Elite suffered a shocking relegation from the Danish League this season. Despite that, the club continues to attract big-name players, with Lasse Andersson now joining the project.
– It is the right step for me to continue my career here, says Andersson.

HØJ Elite has been very ambitious in its mission to become one of the powerhouses in Danish handball. With significant investments, they have attracted several high-profile players, and before the season it looked like they were ready to compete at the top level.

However, the season has been far from a success, with the club suffering a very surprising relegation from the top division. That, however, does not seem to have stopped the club’s ambitions, as they now present Andersson as a new signing for next season.

– It is a fantastically exciting project and a club built on a special foundation with strong values. The ambitions for the future remain intact, even though we will play in the 1st Division next year. I am looking forward to coming home to Denmark with my family, and as a handball player I am excited about the new challenges and the great responsibility that awaits, says Andersson on the club’s website.

Coming from Füchse Berlin and after a long career at the absolute elite level, he will bring plenty of quality and experience to the club. With defense being one of his main strengths, he has earned over 100 caps for Denmark and will be a huge signing for HØJ.

– Lasse Andersson’s handball qualities speak for themselves. He is a fantastically talented player – one of the best in the world in his position. It is great for HØJ Elite that, despite being relegated, we can present Lasse in the squad for next season, says sporting director Hans Lindberg.
