René Antonsen has been an important piece during Aalborg’s rise to the European elite. Now it’s also confirmed that he will stay at the club until 2027.
“I love being part of the team and coming in every day, and I look forward to continuing to do that for the next three seasons”, Antonsen says to the club’s website.
Despite two seasons at Ribe-Esbjerg René Antonsen has been at Aalborg for his entire professional career and now it has been confirmed that he will keep it that way.
In a press release the club confirms that Antonsen has extended his contract until 2027, where Antonsen will be 35 years old.
“Aalborg is my club. It still makes me nervous every time I run on the pitch in the Sparekassen Danmark Arena. I love being part of the team and coming in every day, and I look forward to continuing to do that for the next three seasons. We are in a really good place right now, and I believe that the current team will only get better for the rest of the season when we are played more together,” he says to the club’s website.
Antonsen made his debut for Aalborg back in 2011 and has won five league titles. He was also a part of the danish squad that won bronze at the EHF Euros in 2022.
