Hans Lindberg remains in HØJ – after career end

After 25 years in action, Hans Lindberg stops his remarkable career. Meanwhile a new role awaits the right wing icon in HØJ Elite as a sports manager.

Lindberg´s decision becomes official via the club webpage. Not only HØJ but also his early clubs Team Helsinge and Viborg HK plus his German sides HSV Hamburg and Füchse Berlin have good reason to appreciate his contribution.

– It’s the right time for me to step down and try my hand at a new challenge. I’m happy and proud of the career I’ve had, and I’m grateful for all the many great experiences I’ve had. I’ve tried and achieved more than I ever dreamed of, and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me both on and off the field, Lindberg says to the club webpage.

As a prominent goal scorer, Lindberg left a huge mark in Bundesliga, 3 114 goals makes him total top scorer in the all-time league statistics.

Three years ago, being 41 years old, Lindberg was able to complete another season number one in the score sheet.

His new challenge involves bringing HØJ to the highest possible standard. The next season involves a bump in the road as the prestigious project will run in the second division of the Danish league.

– HØJ is something special to me, as it was here that I began my handball career. I am very much looking forward to using my experience and knowledge from so many years in the world of handball to strengthen HØJ and help take the club to the next levels, Lindberg says to the club website.
