Fabian Norsten extends contract with Aalborg

Fabian Norsten stays in Denmark. The swedish national team goalkeeper has signed a new two-year contract with the reigning Danish champions.
– It was a very easy decision for me to sign a new deal, the player told the club’s website.

Together with Niklas Landin, Fabian Norsten forms one of the best goalkeeper duos in the world. This season, the Tyresö native has taken further steps forward and is currently ranked third in the Champions League goalkeeper standings.

– Fabian has developed and continuously added new layers to his game since joining the club. He was particularly strong during the autumn when Niklas was unavailable after surgery, securing several points for us with his performances, says club director Jan Larsen.

– That’s why we never hesitated in wanting to keep Fabian at the club, and we are, of course, very pleased that we have agreed on a new deal until the summer of 2027.

Norsten joined Aalborg in 2023 and has so far played 77 matches for the reigning Danish champions. The 24-year-old has also made 11 appearances for the Swedish national team.

– After my time in Gummersbach, it was fantastic to come to Aalborg, where I have really been able to develop and take my game to a new level. Among other things, because I get to compete every day in training with one of the best in the world in Niklas Landin and be coached by Michael Bruun, who is an excellent goalkeeper coach, says the player.
