Danish league to change name after new sponsorship

The Danish men’s and women’s top leagues will no longer simply be called Herreligaen and Kvindeligaen. According to Danish TV 2 Sport, a new sponsor is on the way – and the deal is reportedly worth a double-digit million amount (in Danish kroner).

The Danish top leagues have previously been sponsored by, among others, a travel agency and a kitchen company. But during this season, the leagues have only been named Herreligaen and Kvindeligaen.

Now, Danish TV 2 Sport reports that the Handball Divisions Association has signed a new main sponsorship agreement for Herreligaen, Kvindeligaen, and the Super Cup matches.

Tophåndbold and Bambuni, a clothing company, have reportedly entered into an agreement worth a double-digit million amount.

The leagues will now be called:
Bambuni Herreligaen
Bambuni Kvindeligaen
Bambuni Super Cup
