Axel Månsson joins Høj Elite

Axel Månsson is leaving IFK Kristianstad to continue his career in the Danish league at the age of 21. The move has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, and it is now confirmed that ambitious Høj Elite have secured his signature on a two-year contract.

Månsson made his debut in the Swedish league in 2022 and later joined Kristianstad, where he continued to develop into a key playmaker. After another strong season – arguably the best of his career so far – he is now set for his first spell abroad. He has impressed not only in the national league but also on the European stage in the EHF European League.

– I’m really looking forward to joining Høj Elite. I’m happy to become part of the journey the club has started, and I’m excited to play alongside so many talented players, Månsson said on the club’s website.

Høj Elite were promoted as newcomers to the Danish Herreligaen ahead of the 2025/26 season and have built a competitive squad under head coaches Stian Tønnesen and Patrik Liljestrand.

– With Axel Månsson, we get a young, ambitious and extremely gifted offensive player. Axel is creative, has great vision, and is excellent at putting his teammates in advantageous situations – while also being a very dangerous scorer himself, said Høj Elite’s club director Lars Vinther.
