Lukas Nilsson signs contract extension with Aalborg, the agreement is now valid until 2027.
Aalborg confirms on their website.
– I never had any doubts about wanting to extend, says Lukas Nilsson.
The Swedish left back has had strong first season with Aalborg, with 149 goals in 38 games. So strong that the Jan Larsen, club director, has decided to extend Nilsson’s contract until the summer of 2027.
– Lukas has shown an excellent form curve and fits in very well with our game and culture at the club. He has shone on the handball court from day one, and you can really feel that he enjoys being here. It was therefore a completely natural choice to extend the agreement already now, so that we will benefit from Lukas’ qualities for the next several years, says the club director on Aalborgs website.
The 27-year old left back has played 73 games for the Swedish national team, winning a silver medal in the Euros 2018. And has since then been on and out of the team, not playing a game since Glenn Solberg took charge.
– My family and I have been welcomed very well, and we have felt at home in Aalborg from day one. I think we have a really good squad that works incredibly well together both on and off the pitch. I look forward to seeing how we can build on the coming years and I never had any doubts about wanting to extend, says Nilsson.
