Aalborg’s Miguel Martins has dislocated his shoulder, and Thomas Arnoldsen has taken a break to rest mentally and physically.
– When Thomas is ready, he’s ready, and until then, we’ll make sure he’s in good hands, says club director Jan Larsen to TV 2 Sport.
Arnoldsen has not played handball since March 8. Now, Larsen explains to TV 2 Sport that the national team star is taking a break to rest both mentally and physically.
– Thomas is not with us at the moment, and that’s because he needs to rest both physically and mentally. That’s why he’s not with us. That’s the short explanation.
Arnoldsen was also on sick leave in 2023 when he moved to Aalborg due to exhaustion both physically and mentally.
– When Thomas is ready, he’s ready, and until then, we’ll make sure he’s in good hands, says Jan Larsen.
Regarding Martins, Larsen explains that they will know more on Tuesday. The Portuguese player will undergo scans, and it will be determined whether he needs surgery or not. If surgery is required, Martins will miss the rest of the season and has likely played his final match for Aalborg, as he is set to leave for Dinamo Bucuresti after the season.
– This isn’t the first time his shoulder has dislocated. So unfortunately, there’s a high risk that he’ll need surgery, says Jan Larsen to TV 2 Sport.
On Thursday, Aalborg plays the first quarterfinal in the Champions League against Füchse Berlin, and on Saturday, the Danes played a draw against Skjern in the league.
