Tobias Nielsen is predicted to be Denmark’s next star. Now, the right-winger is set to join Champions League club Aalborg.
– I want to win titles, and I believe I can do that in Aalborg, says Nielsen.
The 21-year-old Dane finished third in the scoring charts in Denmark’s top league last season. This year, Nielsen has scored 93 goals for TMS Ringsted.
Now, it has been confirmed that the right-winger has signed for Aalborg.
– Tobias is a player who flew a bit under the radar during his youth years, but in recent seasons, he has truly made his breakthrough and proven to be an incredibly efficient right-winger in the domestic league, says Aalborg’s club director Jan Larsen on the club’s website.
Nielsen will first be loaned out to HØJ Elite for the upcoming season before making his debut for Aalborg.
– For me, Aalborg is one of the biggest clubs in handball, and that’s why it’s a huge dream to have the opportunity to play there. In my opinion, the team is a top contender for the Danish championship every year, as well as for winning the Champions League, says the player himself.
– First, though, I am looking forward to playing for HØJ, where I expect to gain a lot of experience from Hans Lindberg and learn what it’s like to play with the top players.
Tobias Nielsen was named Male Talent of the Year for the 2023/24 season by players in the Herreligaen and 1st division.
