RK Zagreb had a somewhat usual bumpy rides with two coach changes during the season. In the final duel with RK Nexe, there was no stopping the defending champion.
Zagreb renewed the title with a significant 30-27-win away Wednesday night. That put an end to Nexe´s and for that sake all other domestic teams attempt to dethrone the dominant team.
Only the second of four finals meant trouble for Zagreb, 31 all. Still the winning team was undefeated and the first to gain at least six points which the rules stipulates as triumph conditions.
Zvonimir Srna, the left back soon leaving for Montpellier HB had an excellent evening with seven goals and his teammates as well as colleagues from the national team, Luka Lovre Klarica and Filip Glavas certainly helped in completing the glorious quests.
Zagreb had good starts in both halves, 4–11 on the board after 15 minutes and 18–23 ten minutes after the break. However, Nexe pushed hard in-between almost catching up with 16–17 half-way.
The coach of the guests, Andrija Nikolic could control the action towards the end, leading to celebrations for Zagreb title number 33.
