The third edition of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) Men’s and Women’s Youth Asian Beach Handball Championships took place from October 16 to 25 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China claiming the men’s and women’s titles, respectively.
In the women’s competition, China dominated, winning all their matches, including a convincing 2-0 victory over Hong Kong and a similar win against Thailand. They finished the tournament undefeated and secured their second title in three editions. Thailand’s strong performance allowed them to qualify for the upcoming 2025 IHF Women’s Youth Beach Handball World Championship in Tunisia.
On the men’s side, Iran also emerged victorious, winning all six of their matches. They faced tough competition, including two shoot-out victories against Oman and Qatar, before sealing their title with a final win over Thailand. Iran’s success adds to their previous championship win in 2022, reinforcing their position as a dominant force in Asian beach handball.
