Germany and Spain triumphed in Beach Euro championships

Germany and Spain met in the men’s final in Antalya and Germany clinched the gold after shootout. Spain already had one shining medal in the bag, the women’s team defeated Norway in an equaling thrilling duel.

After five competition days on the beach courts in Türkiye, Germany could celebrate the European title for the first time. The golden team allowed one loss in the Main Round, against the future bronze winner Croatia but fought back strong in the elimination games.

Severin Henrich secured the two point goal to 12–10 in the deciding action, Spain failed an attempt to equalize.

Spain, Norway and Germany stepped up on the podium with the winning team coming back from a 0–1 disadvantage in the final. Sara Hernandez who scored the last penalty got selected as mvp in the all star team afterwards. Spain had some ups and downs early in the tournament but bounced back with top quality towards the end, 2–0 over both France and Netherlands in the quarter final and semifinal respectively.
