The historic first edition of the Men’s U17 World Championship is well underway in Morocco. Egypt has secured the first semifinal spot, with Spain, Germany and Argentina also looking to join in after the next game.
Egypt beat Brazil by nine goals and USA meant no trouble for the group number one. With one game left of the group stage, Egypt are already included in the top four nations that continue to play for medals.
Spain´s 57–16 start over South Korea and continuation with 41–24 versus Qatar creates a chance to not only qualify but also rank the best among all first placed teams which could give the better draw in the next stage.
Germany also play for that coveted place but facing Argentina in the Tuesday matchup might be a slight disadvantage as both teams are undefeated after high energy efforts against Iran and Puerto Rico.
Egypt´s left wing Yassin Ramadan is the top scorer so far with 20 goals, two ahead of Ramy Mahrous in Qatar.
The tournament in Casablanca concludes with the final and bronze medal match Saturday 1 November.
