After more than two and a half years on the sidelines, Valter Chrintz has finally made his return to open play. The Swedish right wing made his long-awaited comeback as HØJ Elite faced Stoholm IF on Friday evening.
Chrintz has endured a long and difficult road back to the court. Between 2022 and 2025, the 26-year-old suffered three ACL injuries, but after extensive rehabilitation, he is finally back in action.
Earlier this season, the Swede made brief appearances to take penalty throws. However, Friday’s match against Stoholm IF marked another major milestone in his recovery.
For the first time in more than two and a half years, Chrintz returned to open play. According to HØJ Elite, he received loud applause from the crowd as he stepped onto the court, visibly emotional.
Following his comeback, Chrintz shared his emotions on Instagram.
– 914 days later, I have finally been able to play handball again! Thank you to everyone who has been there along the way, supporting and motivating me throughout these two and a half years. It has meant more than you can imagine!
