Rumour: French star to replace Golla in Melsungen

According to Sport Bild, Nicolas Tournat could be leaving Nantes. The French pivot is being linked with a move to MT Melsungen, where he could replace Johannes Golla.

The Golla drama has made major headlines in recent weeks. Despite joining in the summer and signing a contract until 2031, the German is already looking to leave the club. The pivot is reportedly looking for a move back to his former club Flensburg for personal reasons.

Despite confirming talks with Flensburg, Melsungen sporting director Jesper Larsson has been clear that they have no intention of letting Golla go, especially without a like-for-like replacement.

Finding someone of Golla’s calibre seemed almost impossible, but now there could be a solution. According to Sport Bild, French international Tournat could be close to leaving Nantes, with Melsungen monitoring the situation.

The 32-year-old, with 118 caps for France and a long list of trophies to his name, could be an ideal replacement for Golla. The deal would reportedly cost a significant amount, but that should not be a problem for Melsungen if they sell Golla back to Flensburg. So far, these are only rumours, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on.
