Magdeburg dominant in German Super Cup

Magdeburg put on a show in the German Super Cup. Dominating from start to finish, the reigning Bundesliga champions defeated Füchse Berlin 38–31.

It was a clash of giants as Magdeburg took on Füchse Berlin in the German Super Cup. As always, both sides started at a blistering pace, scoring five quick goals each in the first six minutes. 

Swedish stars Lagergren and Pettersson got off to a red-hot start from the right side, leading the Magdeburg attack and taking turns scoring to build a five-goal lead. For Berlin, it was Gidsel who led the offense, as he usually does. The Danish star scored six first-half goals, but his side was still trailing by five going into the break. 

Berlin’s struggles continued after the restart. Kristjánsson took over the scoring for Magdeburg, completely dominating the field in the second half. At the same time, Gidsel’s fading offensive presence allowed Magdeburg to pull away even further. In the end, 

Magdeburg’s decisive victory clearly showed they are ready to defend their Bundesliga title.
