Champions League title on the line in Budapest – can anyone stop Györi?

This weekend, the Women’s EHF Champions League reaches its climax as four of Europe’s top clubs gather in Budapest for the FINAL4. Defending champions Györi Audi ETO KC enter the tournament with a chance to secure a third consecutive title, but will be challenged by Metz Handball, CSM Bucuresti and Brest Bretagne Handball.

The first semi-final sees Metz take on CSM Bucuresti. The French side are making their third straight FINAL4 appearance but are still searching for their first semi-final victory in Budapest. CSM return to the competition’s final weekend for the first time since 2018 and will be hoping to repeat their 2016 triumph, when they lifted the Champions League trophy.

The second semi-final features Brest Bretagne against Györi. The Hungarian giants arrive in Budapest as back-to-back champions and are aiming for a third consecutive Champions League title. Brest return to the FINAL4 for the first time since 2021, when they famously knocked out Györ in the semi-finals.
