Ferencvaros and Györi ETO KC tied, 28–28 in the Hungarian top battle. That was a good result for Györ who managed to hold on the first spot with a clear points difference.
Györ ran away with a 15-goal-win in the autumn duel, but Ferencvaros opened for a much tighter game in their home arena. The first half was tough for the guests, FTC provided more speed and could sum up a good effort with 14–11.
Then Györ started putting more pressure, the defense was solid and Dionne Housheer plus Emilie Hovden stood for continous options from varied spaces in attack.
A power shot from Kristina Jørgensen guaranteed Györ at least one point, Ferencvaros was pushed to the ropes but found a way to last minute equaliser by Daria Dmitrieva from the penalty line.
With one game in hand Ferencvaros is four points behind which makes for a hard assignment chasing Györ in the tables for the last third of the league.
– Our defense was great, and our attacks gradually improved, but we knew they would fight until the last second. I am proud of the team for fighting all the way and for getting this important point, Housheer told the club webpage after the game.
