Selestat Alsace Handball has been injury-ridden for some time. Now, the Starligue side has found a medical replacement to cope with the situation, Pedro Portela is ready for game action until the end of the season.
Portela arrives with welcome experience, both from international handball but also from the French environment. Selestat will become the third club in France for the 36-year-old after Tremblay HB and HBC Nantes.
At the time of transfer the right wing scored repeated goals for Associação Atlética de Águas Santas in his home country, Portugal.
– Following the long-term injuries of Tony Mendy and Steven George, we began searching for replacements to cover these absences. At this point in the season, it’s never easy to find available players, and we are delighted to have reached an agreement with Pedro Portela, says the club president Christian Omeyer in a press release.
