Power Rankings Danish Men’s League: “It hurts in HØJ – smiles in SAH”

The league is closing in on the “split” and it looks like it’s going to be a thriller. At least in the fight for top-8. It’s time for the Power Rankings Danish Men’s league with Oliver Jørgensen.

Power Rankings is Oliver Jørgensens monthly take on which teams are truly in form. It’s not about the league table, but about how the teams have performed during the past month.

Here are the Danish Men’s League Power Rankings for February!

1: Aalborg Håndbold

Current league standing: 1

Power rankings December: 1

Won the cup in superior fashion. Arnoldsen is back. Lost in Lisbon but I can’t put them anywhere else.

2: SAH

Current league standing: 2

I said it last time. This team is so well constructed. Being “the best of the rest” in the league while performing great in EL. Could be some fun months ahead.

3: GOG

Current league standing: 3

Power rankings December: 7

I think that the Euro-break was great for Kasper Christensen. Got to keep almost everyone home and they look fresh.

4: Skjern

Current league standing: 5

Power rankings December: 3

I still see them as the biggest contenter for gold but the Mensah-injury hurts a little. Bonde got his first NT-call up. Well deserved.

5: TMS Ringsted

Current league standing: 8

Power rankings December: 4

A historic cup-final and they look solid. Kudos to Kenneth Olsen and Rasmus Nielsen. They get the most out of what they have.

6: Mors-Thy

Current league standing: 4

Power rankings December: 6

Where to put Mors-Thy? Defeats against GOG and SAH but an impressive win in Skjern. They stay at the number 6 spot. Can’t wait to see Norlyk in red and white.

7: Bjerringbro-Silkeborg

Current league standing: 6

Power rankings December: 11

Still don’t scream either “stability” or “top team””but things do look a little better. If they can time their season peak they won’t be fun in the play offs.

8: Nordsjælland

Current league standing: 13

Power rankings December: 10

That win in Ribe-Esbjerg alone gives them a little jump. Still second to last but “just” 4 point behind TMS at 8. Tells the story of how close the league is from 8–13.

9: Fredericia Håndbold

Current league standing: 9

Power rankings December: 8

4 matches remaining and right now outside top-8. Ribe-Esbjerg away and Mors-Thy at home in the last two. Well…

10: TTH Holstebro

Current league standing: 7

Power rankings December: 9

Only one win in 2026 – against Grindsted. Should be happy they got of to such a great start to the season. I don’t think anyone fears them in the playoffs. Cause’ they do stay in top-8 right? Or no?

11: Ribe-Esbjerg

Current league standing: 12

Should I reward them more after that win against TTH? Maybe … if they didn’t get destroyed at home by NH. Need 4 wins to have a small chance of top-8. The problem? They have Aalborg next …

12: SønderjyskE

Current league standing: 10

Power rankings December: 5

Horrible way to start 2026. Lost against TMS in the league. Then again in the cup-semi and now a draw against Grindsted. Could have been a final and a great Top-8 look. Now … Fredericia and GOG away. At least they have HØJ at home.

13: Grindsted

Current league standing: 14

Power rankings December: 14

Why not? Still no wins but heroic performance against both SønderjyskE and Fredericia.

14: HØJ

Current league standing: 11

Power rankings December: 13

No win since november and Tønnesen got sacked (almost on live television). Difficult job for Anders Thomsen right now. Author: Oliver Jørgensen
