List: The best right wings at the 2023 World Championship

The 2023 World Championship is getting closer and in a series of articles Ola Selby, reporter at GoHandball, picks his 5 best players at each position. Now it’s time for the right wings.

Here are the players:

Angela Malestein, Netherlands

The FTC player continues to score goals in high fashion, season after season. Malestein has performed at a high level in the Champions League this season and often performs well during WC or EC as well.

Laura Flippes, France

Flippes can play right back or right wing and maybe she will mostly black back during the World Championship. But I still placed her here because of her ability to do it all.

Trine Østergaard, Denmark

The Danish right wing is often forgotten in these types of lists and I have a guess as to why: she is not scoring as many goals as some of her wing colleagues and she is not the most spectacular player. On the other hand, she rarely has a bad game and she is one of the best wing defenders in the world.

Wiktoria Györi-Lukacs, Hungary

Hungary and wingers are a great match. Györi-Lukacs is used to playing in big games and knows how to score. An experienced player at that which is exactly what this young Hungarian team needs.

Emilie Hovden, Norway

Hovden gets better each year and this season has maybe been her best one so far. A fast and hard working wing that could have a huge impact for Norway this December.
