List: The best left wings at the 2023 World Championship

The 2023 World Championship is getting closer and in a series of articles Ola Selby, reporter at GoHandball, picks his 5 best players at each position. It’s time for the left wings.

Here are the players:

Chloe Valentini, France

Her development over the past few seasons has been great and Valentini is now the obvious first choice on the left wing in Metz and in the French national team. She is fast, quick, and a great finisher, which she combines with great defensive awareness. One of the best players in the Champions League so far this season.

Emma Friis, Denmark

She had her big breakthrough on the international stage a year ago where she, very well deserved, got the award for best left wing during the Euros. It looks like Friis plays without nerves and here development has continued this season, which will be her last in Ikast. But now Friis won’t be able to surprise everyone like she did a year ago. How will she handle that?

Tamara Mavsar, Slovenia

32 years old Mavsar is having one of her best seasons so far during her career. Very important for both Krim and the Slovenian national team with her ability to do it all. She needs to perform at a high level for Slovenia to do some damage during this WC.

Nadine Szöllösi-Schatzl, Hungary

The left winger has not had her best season so far in Györ but is still a top player in Europe and one of the more experienced players in the Hungarian squad. 239 goals for her country so far and we can expect many more during the World Championship.

Sanna Solberg-Isaksen, Norway

Not the best offensive player but still one of the best wing players in defense. Has won it all and continues to play at a high level, season after season.
