Four competent national teams prepares for the upcoming Euro 2024 with intriguing games. Netherlands pushed hard to beat Denmark with 36–31 and Norway had to put their best foot forward to succeed against Germany.
After Stine Oftedal´s farewell and Nora Mørk on an indefinite timeout much focus is granted to Henny Reistad´s attack resources. Norway needed the superstar in a top performance to complete a comeback versus Germany.
With twelve goals from Reistad and some saves from Katrine Lund as a late substitute Norway could clinch the win with 32–30. Emily Bölk almost made her team receive revenge for the twelve-goal-loss during the olympic tournament and Germany also had some debutants, the pivot Jolina Huhnstock and back court talent Nieke Kühne in play.
Denmark allowed 36 goals from the Netherlands which made it very hard to catch up with the orange team. For the first match with Henrik Signell in charge, Lois Abbingh and Bo van Wetering had prominent roles when Netherlands pulled away in the second half. Alieke van Maurik made the most of the minutes in the back court line, including three goals in the first half.
