Since 2021, Helle Thomsen has been responsible for Neptunes Nantes. But now the French club announces that the Dane will leave his post after the season.
“It is obviously a shame that we will not be able to realize the ambitious project that we started together in 2021,” writes Thomsen on the club’s website.
The former Swedish national team captain Helle Thomsen has a huge track record during her career. Since 2021, she has been in charge of the French major team Neptunes Nantes.
But on Wednesday, the club announced that Thomsen will leave her position after the season. This is because the club wants to go in a new direction, where they invest in young talent under a new management.
“We want to thank her so much for her work, her professionalism, and the whole club wishes her well in the future. We all remain 100% mobilized as we still have good pages to write this season with the club, the licensees, partners and supporters,” writes vice-president Olivier Jehannet on the club’s website.
“It is obviously a shame that we will not be able to realize the ambitious project that we started together in 2021 and that the club will be forced to review its strategy. But I respect that. Now, together with the team, we will do it. everything possible to go together for all possible titles this season. I want to say goodbye to the club in a nice way at the end of the season,” writes Thomsen.
Thomsen was the Swedish national team captain between 2014 and 2015 and has, among other things, been a coach for the Dutch national team and CSM Bucharest during her career.
