Denmark advanced to semifinal and dominated the final part of the second half against Netherlands. In the conclusion of the Main Round, Norway remained undefeated and Germany quashed Slovenia.
Denmark and Netherlands had equal chances at the beginning of the Wednesday duel but the red and white team soon reached higher capacity. After a troublesome tournament where Denmark had to send both Althea Reinhardt (concussion during training) and Sarah Iversen (ACL injury) home the energy and team spirit still shone through.
Anna Kristensen held back Netherlands with magnificent saves from start to finish. Helena Elver won a lot of duels and provided plenty of assists, Line Haugstad ruled in defense and Anne Mette Hansen stood for quality actions at both ends of the pitch for the winning team.
Dionne Housheer was one of the few opponents who could get the ball in the net behind Kristensen, but nothing could be done when Denmark pulled away after the break.
Norway didn’t need to deliver in full force, however 40–24 against Switzerland was undoubtedly another power performance. Germany bowed out with a 19-goal-win over Slovenia.
The semifinal setup for Friday is Hungary–Norway (17:45) and France–Denmark (20:30). All four teams also cleared the qualification for World Cup 2025 (France as reigning champion).
