Confirmed: Tervel becomes new coach of Brest Bretagne

Brest Bretagne will change coaches after the season. Now it is clear that the player legend Raphaëlle Tervel is the one who will take over the levers in 2024.
“She has experience on the European stage. It was the obvious choice,” says Gérard Le Saint to the club’s website.

In 2021, Pablo Morel took over the responsibility in Brest Bretagne. But earlier in the autumn, the French club announced that the collaboration will end after the season and there has been speculation about who will take over the baton.

But now the speculation comes to an end.

During Tuesday, the club announced that it will be former French national team player Raphaëlle Tervel who succeeds Morel.

During her active career, she won, among other things, World Cup gold and played a total of 241 international matches during her 16 years in the national team. She then began her coaching career and she has lately been an assistant coach in Györ, where she also ended her active career.

“I am very pleased with the signing of Raphaëlle Tervel for next season. She is someone who has experience in the Champions League, having won it as a player (2013 and 2014 with Györi) and been a finalist as an assistant coach (2022 with Györ). She has experience on the European stage. It was the obvious choice,” says Brest Bretagne director Gérard Le Saint to the club’s website.
