A big loss for Croatia. The host nation’s center-back and star player, Luka Cindrić, will miss tonight’s match against Egypt.
First, Domagoj Duvnjak was ruled out of the squad. Now, Luka Cindrić has also been excluded from Croatia’s World Championship team. The Veszprem player has been injured since mid-December and hasn’t been able to train fully.
– Cindrić has had some issues in training; he hasn’t trained much since mid-December, but I hope he’ll return soon, said head coach Dagur Sigurdsson even before the tournament.
Igor Karačić, who replaced Duvnjak, is now the only playmaker left in the squad, reports 24Sata.
