Norway has chosen Olympic squad

Norway reached seventh place at their first Olympics in 48 years. Four years later, the national team of Jonas Wille is once again among the twelve contenders.

In the selection of 14, plus three reserves that was announced Wednesday, Wille had to make several thorough considerations.

– Among other things the question concerning the number of left wings opposed to the number of right-handed distance players has been interesting. Another dilemma was if there is room for both Aga and O´Sullivan as defensive specialists in a small squad of 14 men, says Wille to the federation website.

The answer turned out to be including both Aga and O´Sullivan in the selection.

– On the right side we make a bet that Bjørnsen will cope with all games. Magnus Søndenå will be a hybrid-reserve that can cover both right back and wing if needed, Wille says to handball.no.
