Yesterday’s games were the final round before the EHF European Leagues knockout stage. Flensburg faced the risk of losing their direct spot in the quarter-finals if they lost by a large margin against Bjerringbro-Silkeborg. However, the Germans seemed determined to secure first place and left Silkeborg with zero chance of an upset.
The tightest group before yesterday’s games was Group Two, where Nexe, Sävehof, and Skjern were all battling for first place and a direct spot in the quarter-finals. Skjern needed a win against Gorenje to secure the spot. In a rollercoaster of a handball game, Skjern emerged victorious, much helped by Noah Gaudin’s nine goals.
In Group Three, Bjerringbro-Silkeborg had the chance to claim first place, but it required something special: an eleven-goal win against Flensburg. However, it was never close. Flensburg had control at halftime with a two-goal lead, and in the second half, they dominated. Lasse Jakobsen and Lasse Möller scored nine goals each, and goalkeeper Kevin Möller saved 48 percent of the shots. Flensburg won the second half 26–9, ending the game with a commanding 26–45 victory.
