Heavy blow for Germany: Swiss Army knife set to miss EHF Euro 2024

Marian Michalzik is a well-rounded player that was set for an important role in the German squad for the Euros. But an muscle injury means that the Hannover-Burgdorf player is out for the tournament.

Marian Michalzik has impressed for Hannover-Burgdorf during the Bundesliga season and was included in Alfred Gislason’s German squad for the upcoming Euros. But now it has been confirmed that the left back will miss the tournament due to an injury.

– Marian will definitely be out, the injury is more serious than we initially thought. I am very disappointed by the outage, but we will resolve this internally. With Sebastian Heymann, Fischer, Köster and Golla as well as Jannik Kohlbacher, we have alternatives for the middle block, and for the attack the focus is on Juri Knorr, Philipp Weber and Nils Lichtlein in the middle, said Gislason.

Germany will start their tournament with the game against Switzerland in Düsselforf on January 10th.
