RK Zagreb had a great game in front of the home crowd and outscored Aalborg HB by eight goals. The Polish teams bowed out for the night, both Industria Kielce and Wisla Plock ended up on the losing side.
The right side proved successful as Zagreb put some distance between themself and Aalborg. Luka Lovre Klarica and Filip Glavas both hit the target seven times, from the back court and the wing respectively to give Zagreb a solid advantage. The upper hand also concerned the defense, Zagreb only allowed nine goals in the first half on their way to two points.
Dinamo Bucharest triumphed again and conquered Wisla Plock away. In a close call, Dinamo could respond to every try from Plock to balance the game towards the end and the keeper Vladimir Cupara was among the match winners.
– We are very happy with the win after such a difficult match against a rival that has a very good coach and great players. The deciding factor was our defence and the fact that we made fewer mistakes, said Dinamo´s left back Ali Zeinelabedin to eurohandball.com.
Füchse Berlin ruled over RK Pelister and pushed hard already from the start. Mathias Gidsel provided six goals, all in the first half to steer the guests to a comfortable margin.
HBC Nantes dominated a crucial 15 minute period after the break, where a 9–2-run led to success versus Industria Kielce. Kielce surely lacked some attack power, while including injuries in the summary there was also problems with the actual shots. That didn’t bother Valero Rivera with eight goals for the winning team.
