Rumors in Swedish media state that Andreas Nilsson might be on his way to leave Veszprem for Swedish club Önnereds HK.
– It would have been great if he were to play in Sweden but other than that I have no comments, says Christoffer Lind, sports director of Önnered, to GoHandball.
Andreas Nilsson from Veszprem to Önnereds HK? That might be a reality next season. But when GoHandball gets a hold of Christoffer Lind, sports director of Önnereds HK, he doesn’t have much to say.
– I have nothing to say about that. It would have been great if he were to play in Sweden but other than that I have no comments, says Lind.
So you are saying that there are no truth to the rumors?
– I am choosing not to comment on that.
If Nilsson decides to move back home to Sweden, then Önnered would at least be interested?
– I believe that all the teams in the Swedish league would want him on their team if he was moving back home. But I don’t want to comment on whether or not he has been signed by Önnered.
A move from Veszprem to Önnered would make sense. At least if the pivot is moving to Sweden. Önnered is one of the financially strongest clubs in Sweden.
– It depends on what he wants. We can never match the salaries that those types of clubs pay, says Lind.
What would it mean for Önnered to add Andreas Nilsson to the squad?
– He would off course add a lot on the pitch but also to everything outside of the game itself. He has played in the biggest games in Europe and knows what it’s all about. We will have to see if he returns to Handbollsligan, he is under contract with Veszprem next season.
GoHandball is trying to reach Andreas Nilsson.
