Left back talent, Philipp Ahouansou has found a new club for next season. Intense negotiations has led the switch, where the 22-year-old plays for HSG Wetzlar until 2028.
The rumours of a forthcoming move appeared earlier in the spring. In the end, the current contract between Ahoansou and Rhein-Neckar Löwen is terminated one year in advance and Wetzlar can benefit from his qualities for four years.
– I’m very happy that it worked out. It’s no secret that I’ve been in talks with HSG Wetzlar for a while. From the start, I felt a great deal of appreciation. I really like the plan that those in charge have for the new team from the summer, but also for me personally.
– I’m ready to take on a responsible role in the future, he says to the club webpage.
Ahoansou made his Bundesliga debut during 2018/19 and became a regular feature in the Löwen squad three years later. A search for more minutes on the field culminated in a loan to GWD Minden last season, all in all Ahoansou has 100 plus top flight games and more than 200 goals in the stats so far.
The signing completes Wetzlar´s squad for 2024/25
