Bundesliga: Balingen-Weilstetten won low-scoring duel

HBW Balingen-Weilstetten recorded their second win in a row and seems more determined than ever to evade the relegation zone. As an extra bonus for Balingen, the bottom competititor ThSV Eisenach had to accept defeat Thursday evening.

Only 37 goals was produced between Balingen-Weilstetten and HSG Wetzlar and the second half took place without any of the teams reaching two-digit. Balingen presented a solid defense, held up by goalkeepers Mohamed El-Tayar (57 percent) and reliever Mario Ruminsky (70!).

Wetzlar pushed hard for an equaliser towards the end of the first half, just after 10–10 the home team lost some pace again and Balingen could manage 10–12 at half-time.

After that, Wetzlar´s attacks lacked creativity and options and Balingen managed a slightly larger gaps until 16–21.

Two points separate the winning team from Eisenach in the lower end of the table. Eisenach in turn stand on equal points with Bergischer HC just above.

With Marcel Schiller producing ten goals, Eisenach had no chance keeping up with Frisch Auf Göppingen from 20 minutes and onwards.
