France call 23 players to pre-EURO-camp – goalkeeper dilemma for coach Gille

France have not won an EHF EURO gold medal since 2014. Coach Guillaume Gille has now called 23 players to a camp before EHF EURO 2024.

The French squad will gather in Maison du handball, Créteil on December 21st to 24th and in Nantes from January 1st to 7th. In Nantes they will play friendly games against Tunisia and Brasil.

23 players have been called to the pre-camp which by latest Januari 9 will be reduced to 20 players with 16 available each game in the EHF EURO. Most interesing is probably the goalkeeper situation. Vincent Gerard is still not really fit for fight so France will have to depend on relatively in-experienced Bellahcene, Bolzinger and Desbonnet.
