Ivano Balic joins the coaching staff in Split

RK Split is where it all started for the Croatian legend Ivano Balic. The second-tier club announces the return of the prolific playmaker effective immidiately, now as a part of the coaching staff.

No introduction should be required when it comes to the 44-year-old and his sport achievements.

Balic´s eye for handball and ability to create space for himself as well as the national and club team colleagues made the centre back one of the best player´s during the last decades. 

Balic stopped as a professional in 2015, moving on to other assignments as for example the role as assistant coach in the Croatian national team.

Now, 22 years after leaving Split, Balic is back in town. The club announces the return in social media, surely rising the temperature for the upcoming games in the spring season.

”We are sure that with his handball knowledge and experience, he will greatly help our coaches, and especially our young players.🤾🤾

We believe that Ivano will help us to take another step higher in the coming years and to return to the highest rank of Croatian handball”, writes Split in a Facebook post.
